What drifty is
drifty is an AI-powered time analysis app for Mac. It captures desktop activity, turns app, site, and window context into automatic categories, and helps you understand where focus and drift actually went.
The unifying need is simple: see what the day actually looked like, without logging it by hand.
What it records
Section titled “What it records”drifty runs quietly in the background and records:
- the frontmost Mac app
- window title, when Accessibility is granted
- supported browser and site context
- idle and away-from-keyboard time
Activity history is stored locally in SQLite. There is no timer to start, and drifty is not a screen recorder. It does not save screenshots.
What you review
Section titled “What you review”The captured day becomes:
- a timeline in three-minute blocks, labeled as focus, neutral, or drift
- a weekly calendar built from the same captured segments
- insights that explain the kind of work, not just the app name
- an optional companion that stays close when a confirmed drift needs a next move
What stays local
Section titled “What stays local”Raw app, site, window, and session history stays on the Mac by default. Signed-out use still tracks locally.
Cloud features are optional and account-scoped: sign-in, AI classification through Drifty Cloud or your own key, profile, and an opt-in leaderboard of aggregate focus totals. Those surfaces do not publish a raw activity timeline.
Who it is for
Section titled “Who it is for”The same product is meant for individual knowledge workers, freelancers, students, and small teams. The surfaces stay the same. The point is not a persona-specific fork; it is a day you can actually read.
