Account & Billing
Tracking itself can stay on the computer without an account. Sign in when you want cloud AI, a public profile, leaderboard totals, or the paid device-sync feature.
Free keeps automatic tracking, the timeline, and daily review on this device. Classification can run on-device, through your own API key, or at a custom endpoint. No account is required for that path.
Pro is the customer-facing name for the individual Drifty Cloud plan. It includes the Free surfaces, then adds hosted cloud classification that is more accurate on ambiguous work than the on-device model. There are no local model downloads or keys to manage. Cloud AI and private activity sync work across up to three Mac and Windows computers, with a 7-day free trial.
Pricing in the app is $7 / month or $5 / month billed yearly ($60 / year). Manage billing from Settings → Account.
Device sync
Section titled “Device sync”Available on Mac and Windows in desktop version 1.12.1 and later. Enable it in Settings → Sync (Settings → Account in earlier versions) on each computer with Pro, an active trial, or a Team plan seat. It is off by default.
While drifty is running, it syncs about every three minutes and when you return to the app; Sync now retries manually. Activity, classifications, deletions, excluded apps and sites, category settings, projects, and app and site rules sync. Other preferences stay on each computer.
Across all devices, overlapping activity counts once: two simultaneous 30-minute sessions show 30 minutes. App and classification time is shared between simultaneous devices; selecting one device shows its original recorded time.
Pausing sync stops updates without deleting the cloud copy. After all trial, Pro subscription, and Team plan seat access ends, the cloud copy is kept for 60 days and then deleted. Restoring access during that period cancels the deletion. You can delete the cloud copy from Settings → Sync even after access expires; local activity stays on each computer.
What still stays local
Section titled “What still stays local”Signing in does not publish the timeline. Cloud AI uses only minimized classification fields; device sync is a separate opt-in that copies activity to your account-only cloud space. Public profile and leaderboard publishing stay aggregate-only. See Privacy & Data Boundaries for details.
Optional public rank is separate from billing. See Leaderboard & Profile if you want aggregate focus totals on a public board.
